چکیده

The present study was undertaken to estimate genetic diversity and reveal population structure of Hilsa shad (Tenualosa ilisha) from two large river ecosystems, the Padma Meghna Bangladesh using mitochondrial control region (D-loop region). Fin tissue samples 60 individuals were collected (ChapaiNawabgonj) River (Chandpur). DNA extracted D-loopof mtDNA amplified, purified sequenced. A total 35 Sequences (15 20 population) analyzed 14 haplotypes detected. Total16 polymorphic sites identified that included11 singleton 5 parsimony informative sites. These populations showed high haplotype (h) (0.863 in 0.901in population). We found low nucleotide (Pi) within each population, 0.0058±0.0039 0.0063±0.004 population. shared among as 28.57%, rest 71.43% private haplotypes. Estimate differentiations (Fst) suggest closely related (Fst= 0.058, P=0.07). TCS genealogy three main separated by mutational steps hap_10 might be most ancestral its internal position network. All results panmixia T. ilisha between thus similar management plan could useful for these fishery Bangladesh.

High levels of genetic variability and differentiation in hilsa shad, Tenualosa ilisha (Clupeidae, Clupeiformes) populations revealed by PCR-RFLP analysis of the mitochondrial DNA D-loop region

The hilsa shad, Tenualosa ilisha (Clupeidae, Clupeiformes) is an important anadromous clupeid species from the Western division of the Indo-Pacific region. It constitutes the largest single fishable species in Bangladesh. Information on genetic variability and population structure is very important for both management and conservation purposes. Past reports on the population structure of T. ili...

Use of RAPD fingerprinting for delineating populations of hilsa shad Tenualosa ilisha (Hamilton, 1822).

RAPD was used to delineate the hilsa populations sampled from the Ganga, Yamuna, Hooghly, and Narmada Rivers at six different locations. Six degenerate primers were used to generate the fragment patterns from the samples collected. All primers were highly polymorphic and generated high numbers of amplification products. Nei's genetic distances were calculated between locations. The overall aver...

Proximate Composition of Different Portion of Hilsa, Tenualosa Ilisha from Two Regions of the Bay of Bengal in Bangladesh

Tenualosa ilisha from Chittagong and Khulna regions of the Bay of Bengal was analyzed which showed that proximate compositions varied among the different portions of fish body. The highest value of moisture found in dorsal portion of the fish (Khulna region) whereas the lowest value of moisture found in caudal portion of the fish (Chittagong region) were 56.59 and 54.69%, ...
